The chapter meets formally six times a year, graciously supported by the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.

Guest speakers are invited and most recently we received a presentation from Dr. Barry Lanman, Professor of Oral History, who has supported the DFCS for many years.
He produced the beautiful book “On Heroic Wings”

and is currently working on another project for the DFCS with an introduction by Gary Sinese. On other occasions we tour different industry companies and military bases in the Low Country. Recently we were hosted by the Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, SC for two days. Overnight billeting was provided by the base for this two day orientation of their F-35 program.
We received operational overview of this Marine Corps latest fighter, interacted with the F-35 pilots, and toured their facility. Our members received wonderful hospitality as well as a dinner and luncheon. Future outings may include Hunter Army Airbase and Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.
